About F.A.R.

Far Above Rubies Clothing and Costume was started in 2005 by Lisa Bloodgood after a year's break after graduation. She graduated with honors in 2004 from the Art Institute of Portland with a Bachelor of Science degree in apparel design. Lisa started sewing in 8th grade, which was over 20 years ago. One of her first projects was a light pink bubble/balloon skirt. She started making historical costumes in 1992. At AI, she learned more about sewing and fabrics and a lot about design, illustration, draping, pattern making, and presentation. In addition to making clothes, Lisa enjoys gardening, books, cats, movies, church, going to SCA events in the Kingdom of An Tir, and spending time with friends and family.
